Always by your side

When I was little I sometimes had trouble falling asleep...Mostly due to stress and fear ( for example if I had seen a film which scared me xD)
The only way to sleep in those situations was to think intensely about some positive things..There was only one thing that always worked: Thinking that I was not alone.
If I felt safe with someone or something watching over me then I could sleep pacefully...Everything was in believing in that someone, but, you know,for a child is certainly not a problem to get lost in his/her fantasy.
That was the moment in which the real became unreal and the unreal real.
Things lose their consistence and dreams become reality.

Someone can't sleep without its doll, pet or plush... I couldn't sleep without my dreams...I still can't xD

This is the concept of this illustration.

Made the sketch with graphite, then shaded abd colored in photoshop elements 8 with a tablet.
