A Week at Winds Rose

STORY:

3 months had passed and Diego still found it hard to stay at the kennels. Becca had scolded him of not taking enough responsabilities but he just couldn't stand being there. They still didn't find any of the disapperead dogs and because of that he was loosing his sleep. On the other hand however, Sileo and Shasta's condition was considerably better and they could bring them back home from the vet's clinic for everyone's happiness. But the thing that really put back a smile on Diego was the fact that Celeste was recovering from her illness. She had regained weight and was returning to her usual energy levels BUT once she had known Gazer had puppies with another female she just refused to share her living space with him. she GROWLED at him whenever he came too close and tried to ignore him everytime. It was quite funny to see Gazer's disconsolate face but at the end they had to separate them. To think that both canines and human used to believe that they were the 'forever and always' couple... It was kind of sad seeing them separated indeed... But she felt betrayed while week and he felt guilty... 'Cause indeed he was. He had puppies. And one of them was still at the kennels... Celeste had always loved pups but that one, she couldn't help but hate her. In addition she looked just like him. 

Anyway a monday Diego took her, her friend Gemma, Tai and Jet's daughters and LeRoy for a short trip to Valle D'Aosta. From what she knew there was a vet that had to check her and Gemma's condition and vaccinate the pups... AKA a boring and meaningless trip to her. She had seen nothing but vets lately. 
However once arrived at the place they understood that perhaps they wouldn't see only scary vets... Diego had brought them to another kennel. Winds Rose Kennels to be exact. That name reminded her of something but she couldn't recall it properly. After Diego made them jump off from the jeep a huge red husky male came towards them trotting effortlessy. He didn't seem to have bad intentions but just to be sure she assumed a defensive pose while Tia quickly hid  behind her. Gemma stood back with Nira while LeRoy happily jumped toward the male with a playful stance. Diego, who still was taking his stuff form the car, as soon as he noticed the dog called it out but a high pitched voice covered his.

- Achernar! - shouted Sharleen - Fermo!

The male turned his head towards his owner and gave her a kind glare that seemed to mean 'don't worry I won't do anything bad' and took some other steps towards the guests. In that very moment LeRoy jumped on him and soon Nira followed by but Achernar didn't seem to be bothered by the puppies and let them chew his paws xD
That way of acting really surprised Diego who was used to quite other types of behavior on the part of his dogs... Archenar in fact just came to greet them as if it was his duty to properly welcome guests... He just had a way of moving that really captured Diego's attention plus he was way too beautiful... A real looker. 

- I'm sorry - said Sharleen - I let him out to waste a little bit of energy but he heard you coming before me xD
- Oh don't worry Sharleen! - Anwered Diego - He seems to be very friendly so no worries. 

Indeed now even Celeste was greeting him and she let her guard down, along with a hesitant Gemma and a shy Tia too.

- Thank you for letting us stay this week ^^ - 
- Don't even mention it! I'm happy to have you here! Come inside, it's getting quite cold and you must be tired!
- Just a little bit xD

At the end of the day the dogs were also able to meet another special kennel resident: Lila, Nira's littermate. After playing like crazy they fell asleep over Tia's silky tail xD
Gemma, who never left Tia's side lately crouched down next to them with a protective manner... She was pregnant after all so she had strong maternal instincts
At that very moment Celeste was greeted by a very important young lady. Now she knew why that name was familiar: her daughter lived there! Lanika seemed to be a bit embarassed by her mother warm hug though xD

During the week Celeste got to know Achernar better as they competed in sledding togheter in order to earn their SDX and SDU titles. She couldn't help but compare him to Gazer however she was pleasantly surprised to see all his differences. Achernar didn't pull like a crazy like Gazer, he was more calm but at the same time very confident. She didn't need to remind him to slow down as he even was able to understand when she was a bit tired. He was gentle and caring, unlike Gazer, and alway minded his actions... She was starting to like him A LOT.
